Teaching In Arkansas

What is the purpose of Fund My Future for Teaching?

Our Mission is to make college education and student financial aid information accessible for all students majoring or considering a major in teaching or education administration at Arkansas colleges and universities.

Fund My Future wants to bring all the information to YOU in one location so you can spend more time studying, teaching, working or with your family rather than searching the Internet for resources to reach your teaching career goals.

Arkansas residents have been educated in one-room school houses, traditional elementary/junior/senior high schools, magnet schools and at home. While some teaching methods and models have successfully withstood the test of time, others have either had new twists added or been completely replaced.  The education field is continually adapting and adjusting.

The face of the teaching profession has changed to reflect the broader population of classroom diversity. Greater numbers of minorities and male students are enrolling in teaching programs at colleges and universities across Arkansas. Because of the demand for more teachers, the Department of Education created an office and a licensing process specifically for individuals who did not receive their college degree in education but have decided they want to teach.

Arkansas needs energetic and dedicated individuals who value the worth of children and the future each one possesses for Arkansas. The colleges and universities have the programs, the jobs are available across the state and associations/organizations locally, and regionally as well as nationally to provide support to anyone who is interested or has already made the invaluable decision to teach.
