Grants Help Tackle Geriatics Nursing Shortage as the Arkansas Community Foundation (ARCF) and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Nursing receive $450,000 in grants "to continue leading an innovative effort to strengthen the quality of nursing in Arkansas nursing homes." One of the prime purposes of the grant is "to increase the number of geriatric nurses with long-term care" with a bachelors degree or higher.
